Trailer Tower with Shelter – Cell on Wheels (COW)

Our trailer tower with shelter systems are used throughout the world in numerous applications including mobile command centers, Cell on Wheels (COWs), emergency communication centers, incident command posts, and many others across a multitude of industries. They are ideal for establishing communications when and where necessary and in a short timeframe, providing ideal trailer mounted masts or cell tower trailers. Our built-to-order portable trailer towers are manufactured to last, with unsurpassed workmanship and high quality materials going into each and every product. Not only are our shelter trailer tower systems built for durability and reliability, but they are user-friendly and simple to deploy.

The shelter trailer tower design possesses simple yet unequaled functionality. While traveling, the tower is stowed atop the shelter in a horizontal position. In deployment, the tower pivots to a vertical position via a brake winch and cable assembly at the rear of the trailer (electric winches are available). Once the tower is locked into the vertical position and the other setup procedures are complete, the tower can be erected to full height.

Self-Supporting Tower System

These heavy-duty trailer frames employ a hot-dip galvanized tubular steel construction. All of our latest designs have an A-frame with T-bar tongue design, and adjustable height tongue channels (accepts various towing couplers) as standard features. This cell on wheels unit features galvanized torsion axles, all LED lighting, 4-wheel electric brakes, breakaway kits, and 7 pin RV-type connectors. They are outfitted with 5,000lb (2267kg) zinc tongue jacks, slide out front and rear outriggers, and 8,000lb. (3628kg) zinc leveling jacks. This chassis provides a base with high structural integrity for the custom shelter to mount and provide the ideal self-supporting tower system or portable aluminum tower.

Trailer Tower with Shelter: How They Are Made

Shelters are fabricated using 6061-T6 aluminum box tube wall studs, sheet skins, and custom aluminum corner post extrusions. The finished shell is double insulated (18R rating) with both foam insulation boards and foil-backed double bubble wrap. Interior walls are finished with bright white Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) panels and anodized aluminum trim. A military-grade 3 point roller locking latch is a standard feature on all shelter doors, as well as several 120VAC receptacles, a shore power inlet, Square D electric breaker box system, and fluorescent lighting. The shelter exterior is standardly painted white with a high-quality, automotive grade, two-part paint system; other colors and types available, including CARC paint.
