Smart Tower
DESCRIPTION
All Aluma Tower Company, Inc. towers are designed according to TIA-222-G Structural Standard For Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas.
Aluma Tower has developed the patent-pending Smart Tower design, empowering the end user to control the tower via text messaging. This innovative tower design boasts unique technology that transmits location, height and wind speed data. The end user can utilize this data to fully retract the tower if faced with high wind conditions or determine and set desired tower height. Other options include the ability to program the tower to self-adjust when erecting or retracting based solely on wind speed. This technology facilitates controlling the tower in any condition thereby reducing risks associated with high wind situations and any other extenuating circumstances.
The SMART Technology is available with any model of Aluma’s unguyed tower. The customer can also choose to install the SMART Technology on their Aluma Trailer unit, empowering the end user not just with his tower control, but also adding the capability to control the Aluma generator and HVAC system in the communication shelter, all via text message.
In summary, the SMART Technology system is a unique piece of equipment that affords the operator options never offered or imagined capable in this tower industry before.

Aluma Tower is proud to continue our commitment to thinking outside the box and leading this industry in technology. We have devoted countless hours and great effort into this project to make navigation and use as easy and user friendly as possible. This Smart Technology system is truly the future of this industry. Operators are offered two options. First, to control the tower/generator/HVAC remotely via text messaging and second to control via HMI touch screen located inside the shelter (not remotely). There are few steps one must follow in order to operate this system via SMS messaging. First, operator must log in. Once logged in, the operator has a series of action and non-action command options he/she must choose from when communicating with tower, generator or HVAC. If the SMART System receives an action command from the operator it will respond within seconds acknowledging the operator’s command with a text message stating “request accepted”. Simple non-action commands are used in order to receive live data from the tower/generator/HAVAC. E.g. “status” which provides tower height, wind speed, and location; “gen status” which provides fuel level, amperage, volts, and “temp status” which provides shelter temperature.
Other distinctive features of the SMART System include Aluma Tower Company “High Wind Alarm”; this allows the tower’s system to automatically take control in extremely windy situations. Meaning when the smart tower system senses dangerously high windy conditions it will notify the operator with an SMS text message. Upon receipt of the message the operator has the option to bypass this feature and keep the tower up. (Note: keeping the tower up in a high wind situation is Strongly Not Recommended may cause serious damage). However, if the operator ignores the warning message within a given time frame, the tower will lower itself. Shortly after the anemometer senses drop in wind speed below its safe set point, the tower will automatically raise itself. When this process is complete the SMART System text’s the operator with a “tower raised” message. Another future is the generator’s ability to self-start in order to recharge batteries after a certain period of time and maintain fuel circulated. The SMART Technology comes equipped with 30 days battery backup system.
The possibilities are endless when using the Aluma Tower Company, Inc. SMART Technology. Our complex PLC system can be programmed to meet every customer’s needs. If you can dream; Aluma Tower Company, Inc. can put your dreams into action.
